Arlington Artists Alliance presents Threads and Expressions: A Fiber and Textile Journey, a collaborative exhibition with Arlington Weaves Etc., at the Alliance Gallery @ The Crossing Clarendon. This vibrant exhibition will showcase handwoven works by artists with disabilities, celebrating their creativity, skill and artistic voices. The contemporary and accomplished artists showcased in Threads and Expressions have created works using various techniques such as weaving, tapestry, dyeing, stitching, and other fiber mediums. Their use of colorful and textural elements engages the viewer in an imaginative and fascinating journey. The artists have crafted, woven, and skillfully shaped their pieces into works of art that visually stiulate the viewer. Each thread ad fiber is carefully selected and placed to develop a unique environment. In these environments, the artists are free of constraints and able to express themselves honestly. The work exhibited in Threads and Expressions represents a diverse collection of fiber and textile art. The opening reception will include live music, refreshments, and light fare. All the proceeds will go towards supporting the Arlington Weaves Et., fiber artists.
