THRALLS OF A HOWLING VOID:

Thralls of a Howling Void is a narrative focused games day brought to you by the Churls of Wessex. Expect the wailing death knells of ancient war machines, the scratching secrets of long buried horrors and a display of explosions sure to burn the retinas of the galaxy's long-blind eye.

On a planet where violent rebellion clashes against a tyrannical megacorp death is a constant companion, betrayal is an old friend and the only music worth hearing is the cascade of blood soaked credits.

The fate of Onvadus must be decided. The outcome will surely spell doom for the defeated and spoils untold for the victors...

FLAMES OF ORION:

Flames of Orion is a thrilling, fast-paced and easy to pick up skirmish game where mechs do battle against the backdrop of a dying star sytem filled with mercenary scum. FoO is from the brilliant mind of Steve Hupfer (@sovthofheaven) of Hive Scum fame. Our aim by running this event is to promote this fantastic game and grow the community. The official release will launch on Kickstarter on the 6th of May (linked below, please check it out).

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• A lance of 4 mechs on 28-32mm bases at roughly 6mm/epic scale (see ADDITIONAL INFO for more details)
• A completed roster sheet for your combat unit using the Veteran Rules as outlined in the Flames of Orion rulebook.
• A handful of D6 (and a couple of RPG dice but not crucial).
• A measuring implement of your choosing with inches.
• A pencil.
• The 28 community spirit*

A copy or knowledge of the rules will be helpful but is not strictly necessary as cheat sheets will be available on the day. We expect 99% of attendees to be playing their first ever games of Flames at this event.

EVENT TIMETABLE:

12:00 - 13:00: Arrive, set up, catch up and get a pint.

13:00 - 16:00: FIGHT!

16:00 - 17:00: Results, prizes and charity raffle.

The club have very kindly offered us access to the main bar after the scheduled event. We also have a fantastic local pub within walking distance to the venue and train station for the expected "afterparty".

A more detailed timetable will be in the player pack which will be sent to the attendees prior to the day.

ACCESS:

The venue is five minutes walk exactly from Swanwick train station. There is also parking at the club.

• The event will primarily feature 28/32mm mechs. For in world consistency any humans, tanks, planes or other miscellaneous forces should be modelled at 6mm/epic scale to help with creating an immersive battlefield of giant mechs towering over buildings and fleeing groups of soldiers.
• We really look forward to seeing some crazy creations on the day but if you're struggling for inspiration #flamesoforion on instagram is a good place to start along with the excellent illustrations and examples of kitbashed mechs in the rulebook.
