think of others: revolutionary poetry reading

By think of others

Overview

Join us at Lake Merritt for an afternoon of insurgent poetry and collective reflection. Featuring Mecedes Lindsay.

Hip hop, Personal Narrative & Resilience with Mecedes Lindsay

think of others is a container for the in-between—a liminal space where we gather not to escape change, but to move with it. In a time marked by crisis, violence, and erasure, the act of witnessing and archiving together is urgent. Centering the voices of queer and trans poets of color, we pause, reflect, and read aloud, letting poetry find us as much as we find it. Together, we sit in the mess of becoming—where discomfort meets possibility—and dream up the queer, revolutionary futures we need for our collective liberation.

programming includes:

  • well-fitting KN95 masks
  • reading material
  • group discussion
  • refreshments by our community chef

RSVPs are required!
