Minneapolis College of Art and Design is pleased to welcome the public to visit the gallery by appointment only.

The Main and Concourse Galleries are featuring Then & Now: 25+ Years of MCAD MFA / Celebrating the MFA Classes of '95 and '96 and Their Mentors. The exhibition highlights the establishment of the Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Arts Program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and celebrates the first graduating classes of 1995 and 1996 along with their mentors.

In the Emeritus Gallery, The Alchemy of Language: George Roberts / DownStairs Press provides an overview of the numerous letterpress-printed books and broadsides, altered books, and collaborative print projects that George Roberts has produced over three decades.

  • Opening Reception: Friday, June 11, 6:00–9:00 p.m., Remarks at 7:00 p.m., outdoors with timed entry into galleries every 30 minutes. To reserve a 30-minute time slot, click on "select a date."
  • Closing Reception: Sunday, July 11, 3:00–5:00 p.m., Poetry Reading at 4:00 p.m., outdoors with timed entry into galleries every 30 minutes. To reserve a 30-minute time slot, click on "select a date."
  • Regular Appointment hours: Mon–Fri 11:00-5:00 and Sat–Sun 1:00–5:00. To reserve a one-hour time slot, click on "select a date."
  • Galleries will be closed Saturday, July 3 - Monday, July 5.
  • Exhibitions close Sunday, July 11 at 5:00 p.m.

Please be assured that the health and safety of our MCAD community and visitors remain our priority. In keeping with guidelines outlined by local authorities, we will adhere to the following protocols for visitors:

  • Free, timed-entry reservations are required ahead of your visit.
  • Your visit will be limited to 1 hour. (30 minutes during receptions)
  • During regular appointment hours we ask that guests arrive at the north (Main) entrance within 15 minutes of their reservation time.
  • There are no group bookings available; each individual must register for a separate appointment.
  • All visitors (age 2+) must wear face coverings at all times while inside.
  • Hand sanitizer is available and visitors are encouraged to use it upon entry.
  • All visitors must respect the 6-foot physical distancing rule at all times.
  • All visitors are requested to stay in the gallery area and not enter into other parts of the college. For any additional questions, please email us at gallery@mcad.edu.
