The Writer's Notebook: A Free Generative Writing Workshop

We get busy. It happens to all of us. Work, school, the kids, everything large and small gets in the way, and our writing life suffers. Through notebooking, though, we can establish a regular writing practice again. Thus, this workshop is designed to cultivate a regular writing schedule within the structure of our weekly lives. In the class, we will look at writing generated from a defined schedule, and we’ll produce some of our own work—poems, fiction, hybrid-work—from our weekly notebooking.

Jesse DeLong works as the Assistant Director of Creative Writing at Louisiana State University. He is the author of The Amateur Scientist's Notebook (Baobab Press) and The Vinegar in Our Hearts (Cornerstone Press, 2026). Other work has appeared in Colorado Review, Mid-American Review, and Typo, as well as the anthologies Best New Poets 2011 and Feast: Poetry and Recipes for a Full Seating at Dinner.

See you October 7, from 7-9pm, at @12milelimit
