About this event

As part of After School Special: The 2025 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film & Animation Festival, we are pleased to present a screening of DreamWorks' Academy Award-nominated animated feature, The Wild Robot (2024). Bring the whole family for this sweet, mesmerizing film, and stick around after for a conversation with five SVA alumni who worked in the animation, art, and visual effects departments on the film: Angela Arzumanyan (BFA 2018 Computer Art, Computer Animation, and Visual Effects), Charlotte Bae (MFA 2013 Computer Art), Nyoung Kim (BFA 2018 Computer Art, Computer Animation, and Visual Effects), Lisa Qingyi Liu (BFA 2022 Computer Art, Computer Animation, and Visual Effects), and Adam Rosette (BFA 2007 Animation).

Synopsis: After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.

The Wild Robot originally opened in theatres in September 2024. It was nominated for three 2025 Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature Film.

The Wild Robot is rated PG, and some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 7. Children ages 3 and under may not be admitted.

Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening. Guests can enjoy a special selection of music videos by Amanda DiMartino (BFA 2017 Film) in the lobby while waiting to enter.
