The Wandering Swede - Visiting Bruun Idun in West Seattle
Overview
The Wandering SwedeSaturday, November 8 at 12:30 PM
Join us for our next Wandering Swede adventure! This new program brings the Swedish Spirit to the streets as we explore fun local outings together.
Our very first Wandering Swede event took place this past summer when we went to see the musical Ingvar! A Musical Furniture Saga—and we loved seeing so many of you join in for our group photo on stage!
This time, we’re going troll hunting! Swedish Club member Diane Johnson will lead us on a walk to visit Bruun Idun, the West Seattle troll. Created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, Bruun Idun is one of five giant troll sculptures scattered throughout the Pacific Northwest.
We’ll meet at the Lincoln Park parking lot at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 8, and walk together to the troll, which sits down by the beach. We will meet by the map located at the middle of the parking lot. For reference the closest road to the meeting spot is SW Rose St.
Afterwards, those who wish can join us for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
This event is free—just bring comfortable walking shoes and a sense of adventure! (Lunch is paid individually.)
Come wander with us and discover a bit of Nordic magic right here in Seattle!
