The Unbreaded House: A Found-Object Gingerbread House Making Event
Overview
Step into the magical world of Sparkerland with this process-based winter workshop for aspiring gingerbread architects. This is a playful, hands-on creative experience where imagination replaces icing and found object take center stage.
Using junk tech, buttons, sparkly bits, and all sorts of delightful oddities, participants will design and construct their own whimsical “gingerbread” house—no baking, no sugar crashes, and no structural collapses forecasted. Instead of icing, we’ll frost our houses with thickened paint applied using real cake piping tools, turning the familiar rituals of gingerbread decorating into a delightfully unexpected art process.
All materials are provided, and each participant will take home their finished found-object house at the end of the session—a keepsake that’s guaranteed to last longer than the holidays. As a final magical touch, creators can choose to light their house with either a soft fairy light or a cozy faux tea light, bringing their creation to life with a warm winter glow.
