Plant breeding is one of humanity’s oldest and most significant endeavors, yet it remains a highly dynamic field. There is a continuous influx of new technologies for improving plants, including advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, high-throughput phenotyping, and innovative statistical methods for selection, gene mapping, and analyzing genotype-by-environment interactions.
The Tucson Plant Breeding Institute (TPBI) provides breeders with state-of-the-art training in these modern tools. By offering various modules on different topics, the Institute enables breeders to select courses that best meet their specific needs. The mission of the Institute is to disseminate current technologies to a broad audience, including both commercial breeders and academics interested in enhancing plant science.
