"Like any great writer in any medium, she has a talent for framing common emotions, for crystallizing nostalgia, lust, and regret. If we’ve felt them, she lets us feel them anew." –Stephanie Burt

Love her work or loathe it, it feels impossible to ignore the impact of Taylor Swift's lyrics and music on our zeitgeist—not even poets are immune. In this unabashed tribute to Tay Tay, we'll listen as esteemed, if not tortured, poets (and not-so-secret Swifties!) Kim Addonizio, J Jennifer Espinoza, Christian Gullette, Jane Hirshfield, Dean Rader, and Tess Taylor read poems they wrote in response to Swift's songs. These and more than a hundred others have been collected in the anthology Invisible Strings: 113 Poets Respond to the Songs of Taylor Swift. Anthology editor and poet Kristie Daugherty will be our emcee for the evening—bring your friendship bracelets and your dancing shoes, because you'd better believe we'll be spinning those poetry-inspiring tunes, too! Doors at 6:30pm. $15 adv / $20 door
