Director's Bio:
Tran Anh Hung is a Vietnamese-born French director and writer known for award-winning films such as The Scent of Green Papaya, Cyclo, and his 2023 film The Taste of Things (also known as La Passion de Dodin Bouffant), for which he won Best Director at Cannes. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, he moved to France, where he studied film at the École Nationale Louis Lumière. His career took off with his debut feature, The Scent of Green Papaya, which garnered international acclaim and an Oscar nomination. His films often feature lush, evocative imagery and explore themes of memory, sensory experience, and the richness of everyday life.
