The Taming: Inauguration Day Staged Reading

Description
A team of Nasty Women are organizing a staged reading of Lauren Gunderson's The Taming, being performed in over 40 cities across the country on January 20, 2017.
Set at a Miss America pageant, beauty queen Katherine has trapped a liberal activist and a Republican senator in a hotel room to help her rewrite the U.S. Constitution. From 4-6 PM at The New Movement, this raucous, all-female, political comedy inspired by Shakespeare's Shrew will provide a much-needed outlet for laughter and tears.
Not only is this a great way to pre-game for the Women's March on Austin, it's also an opportunity to donate to two great causes. Proceeds will be split between the Southern Poverty Law Center and Planned Parenthood. Drinks and light snacks will be provided by Austin Eastciders and Quacks' Bakery.

The staged reading will be directed by Molly Karrasch with performances by Crystal Bird Caviel, Jess Hughes and Jenny Lavery.
