Who should take the course?

This course is designed for any health caregiver involved with post-resuscitation or pre-transport care of sick newborns. This includes, but is not limited to, physicians, RNs (L&D, postpartum, nursery, emergency departments), nurse midwives, LPNs, respiratory therapists and pre-hospital providers.

Course Covers

The S.T.A.B.L.E program is a concise, directive tool to help maternal/child health care providers to organize the details and interventions necessary to provide care to a sick and/or premature infant. This course emphasizes:

  • Sugar and safe care
  • Temperature
  • Airway
  • Blood pressure
  • Lab work
  • Emotional support
  • Quality improvement

Course Delivery

We award a course completion card to students who attend an instructor-led interactive presentation and who successfully pass the post-test.
