Description

"Of all the accusations against Christians, the most terrible one was uttered by Nietzsche when he said that Christians had no joy. . . . And we must recover the meaning of this great joy." -Alexander Schmemann

Gisela Kreglinger seeks to do just that in her latest book, The Spirituality of Wine. She holds a PhD in historical theology from the University of Saint Andrews and grew up on a vineyard in Germany. Dr. Kreglinger is uniquely gifted in her ability to weave together the worlds of the Bible, spirituality, and history, all while putting them in conversation with the craft of winemaking. We are honored to not only have her with us for a special lecture on the history of the spirituality of wine, but also to lead us in a wine tasting that will allow us to experience God through our senses.

Schedule of Events

  • Presentation on the history of wine in spirituality by Dr. Gisela Kreglinger
  • Wine tasting led by Dr. Kreglinger
  • Book signing and refreshments

The tasting will include 4 beautiful wines that have been hand-crafted in the soil near San Francisco. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided, but it's recommended to have a small dinner before arriving.

There will also be a special silent auction on artwork by a local artist in San Francisco. All proceeds from the auction will go to helping refugees through an organization called World Relief.
