You may have heard of The Soul Breaker 10, you may have even braved its relentless twists and turns and never ending climbs which gave it its name.
Well now it's got a little brother, but don't be fooled, like a younger sibling, what it lacks in size and strength, it makes up for in pure relentless presistance!
Set entirely on the grazing pastures of Aspirations Outdoor Adventures HQ. The simple 1 mile course may at first seem like 'child's play'. but nothing gets to be named a Soul Breaker event without good reason.
So how does the race work?
The course is a simple 1mile lap up a farm track, around some fields and back down the track to the start/finish point.
It's doesn't boast aby massive hills, or any knarly terrain. but it will test your will and endurance just the same.
It starts relaxed, Everyone starts together, and gets 1hour of 'free' running. No timing, no stress, The aim is simple, to average 12min/mile or faster per lap.
Why 12min/mile?
Well after 1hour, the race really starts. Everyone running MUST complete a lap in under 12minutes, or face being eliminated! Back in 12.01, tough luck, your outer here!
Oh, and just to add an extra twist. If everyone completes the lap in under 12minutes, the last person to return will be eliminated anyway! So you won't be racing to win, you'll be racing not to lose!
Yep, that means that every single lap becomes a race within the race!
This mayhem will continue until we are left with just 1 runner!
If however we have enough crazy people signing up and the race is still going on after 2hrs and 48minutes!! then the final lap will become an outright race where the first person home will then be crowned the overall winner.
So in brief.....
- 1mile per lap
- You get 12minutes to complete each lap
- If you take longer, you’re out. if everyone completes the lap in less than 12minutes, the last one home in is out!
- You get 1 hour (5laps) to find your rhythm before you start getting eliminated.
- Total time - 3 hours max, if after 2hrs 48min the race is still going, the final lap will be a race to decide the winner.
- Price £12pp.
- What IS Included - toilet facilities, water, (must bring own water bottle), cake- it’s not a run without cake!, finish medal for all, prize for THE overall winner!
- What is NOT included - food (other than cake for finishers) we will have some fizzy drink and some chocolates/sweets for sale in the reception, but other than that you must bring your own nutrition/electrolytes etc.
