Featured speakers:

Dr. Rashad Muhammad, a retired U.S. Army veteran, dedicated pastor, and passionate advocate for mental health and spiritual well-being. With advanced degrees in pastoral theology, intercultural studies, and educational leadership, his expertise lies at the intersection of faith, culture, and mental health—particularly within the African American community. As a professor and Department of Defense instructor, Dr. Muhammad brings a wealth of academic and practical experience. His Spirit-led, relatable preaching style and commitment to addressing mental health disparities make him a powerful contributor to the S.O.S. Mental Health and Wellness Conference, offering both inspiration and culturally informed insights.

Dr. Sabrina Wannamaker a licensed professional counselor supervisor, educator, and passionate advocate for mental wellness within faith-based communities. As an Assistant Professor at the University of the Cumberlands and founder of Just-Us Counseling & Consulting, LLC, she brings over 12 years of clinical experience in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. Her work centers on supporting clergy, college students, and individuals facing life transitions. Dr. Wannamaker’s research on African American clergy’s experiences with secondary trauma and help-seeking deeply informs her mission to destigmatize mental health in the Black church. Her expertise will be a vital asset to the S.O.S. Mental Health and Wellness Conference, where she will offer practical tools and powerful insight to promote resilience and emotional well-being in ministry and beyond.

Dr. Ashley McGowan is a licensed professional counselor, Counselor educator, and a Behavioral Health Site Manager at the Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Clinic. She also serves as an adjunct professor, guiding future counselors through clinical training and internships. Her doctoral research explored the factors influencing mental health service use among Protestant clergy in Tennessee, highlighting her commitment to addressing the unique mental health challenges faced by church and ministry leaders. With a strong passion for supporting those who serve others, Dr. McGowan brings both academic insight and practical experience to the S.O.S. Mental Health and Wellness Conference, helping to foster awareness, education, and healing within faith communities.
