This series of trainings will introduce the SCERTS® (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Transactional Support) model. A developmental, relationship-based approach that is evidence-based for autistic children and adolescents, as well as those with diverse social-emotional learning profiles.

In partnership with the Georgia Mental Health Access in Pediatrics Program (GMAP), participating members of their program who support autistic and neurodivergent children will be invited to participate in both introductory (Level 1) and advanced professional development (Level 2) on the implementation of the SCERTS framework.

Level 1 of this series will begin with an introduction of the neurodevelopmental foundation of SCERTS, a discussion of the empirical evidence, and the core domains. Participants in Level 1 will engage in 3 sessions; see the agenda for training dates and details.

Level 1 Learning Outcomes:

  • Objective #1: Participating providers will demonstrate the specific knowledge and skills of identifying the developmental stage of their clients’ social and emotional skills within the SCERTS framework.
  • Objective #2: Participating providers will demonstrate the specific knowledge and skills of selecting and writing goals using the SCERTS assessment.
