The 'S' Word: Breaking the Silence around Suicidality and Self-Injury with Brianna Coleman

Discussions around suicide and self-injury can be challenging and uncomfortable, yet these conversations are critical in providing effective support and intervention. This workshop is designed to provide a safe space to address stigma, build confidence and skills in risk assessment, initiate meaningful dialogue and foster a safe environment for individuals struggling with suicidal experiences and/or self-harm.


Objectives

  • Recognize warning signs and risk factors.
  • Explore techniques to reduce stigma and foster effective and empathetic conversations.
  • Build confidence in understanding and responding to various levels of suicidal ideation.
  • Develop skills to navigate challenging emotional responses and provide support during crises involving
  • Suicidal ideation and self-injury.


This training will be virtual and recorded. It is approved for 2 CEUs by the following boards: Social Work, Psychology, MFT, and Behavioral Health and Therapy.
