The Revival: A Movement of Voice, Legacy, Resistance, and Resilience is a project created with and for our community. Rooted in the rich traditions of African American history, this project brings people of all ages together to honor and keep alive the Shouting traditions—those deep, soul-stirring practices of movement, song, and spoken word that have carried us through struggle and joy for generations.
Through dance, music, and storytelling, we will celebrate our ancestors, elders and communities' strength and wisdom, while also recognizing the ways we continue to resist and rise today. This is more than a performance—it’s a gathering, a remembrance, and a celebration of our resilience as Black people. Families, elders, and youth are all invited to be part of this living tradition, sharing space, lifting our voices, and passing on the legacy that keeps us grounded and connected.
