The princess who cried sand is a monodrama in the making, with its premiere scheduled for the end of August.
In this piece, we follow the story of a girl escaping her home, after being abused and her life being threatened, to seek refuge in another country.
Inspired by the performer's own story, this fairytale for adults tells the story of the struggles of fleeing and how trauma and immigration policies can steal years from the lives of people.
During the rehearsal process, we have moments to meet the audience, share our findings and spark discussions through a series of open events.
In our second open event, we are heading out of the city. We invite you to play with sand by the beach as you listen to the modern-life fairytale about the princess who saved herself. We will share prompts to explore sand as a partnering material, the way we experimented with the storytelling of sand during the process.
