THE PREPARED HEART PROJECT

By Heather Harvey

Overview

A guided planning event for seniors & caregivers. Learn what to do before a crisis. Free lunch and a Prepared Heart Passport included.

Planning with purpose. Living with peace.

The Prepared Heart Project is a calm, structured, and highly informative planning event designed to help seniors and caregivers understand the essential steps before a crisis happens. This is not a vendor fair and not a sales event — it is a guided, conference-style experience led by trusted local professionals who care about your well-being, independence, and peace of mind.

Attendees enjoy a complimentary lunch and receive a Prepared Heart Passport, a take-home resource guide filled with practical checklists, essential information, and clear next steps for organizing legal documents, understanding financial options, navigating Medicare benefits, planning for long-term care, and knowing what support is available throughout every stage of aging.

The event includes a focused speaker block followed by four small-group breakout rotations, where participants learn about:

• essential paperwork and life documents

• reverse mortgage basics for aging in place

• long-term care and financial readiness

• VA and Medicare dementia support benefits

• home safety, mobility tools, and hearing resources

• transportation solutions

• comfort-focused hospice education

• options for cremation and body donation

Those who complete their Passport rotations will be entered into the Prepared Heart Grand Prize Drawing, announced during the closing session.

Created to empower families with clarity and confidence, The Prepared Heart Project offers the knowledge and tools needed to stay organized, reduce crisis-driven stress, and move into the future with stability, dignity, and peace of mind.
