THE PRACTICE | A Somatic Workshop for Men to Feel, Notice, and Relate
Overview
THE PRACTICE
A live somatic laboratory for men to feel, notice, and relate differently
This is not a lecture and it is not group therapy. It is a guided, experiential space to slow down, notice what is happening in your body and emotions, and explore how your nervous system shapes the way you relate, react, and lead.
You do not need prior experience with somatic work or men’s groups to attend.
What happens in a session
Each 75-minute session follows a consistent, supportive flow:
• A brief settling and welcome
• A short teaching on the nervous system, emotions, or survival responses
• A guided somatic practice or meditation
• Live group exploration and optional men’s work • Integration and closing
The content emerges from real, lived experience in the room. There is no preparation required and no expectation to share.
You are always invited to participate at your own pace.
What this space is like
• Experience-led and theory-informed
• Grounded in nervous system education
• Curious, not problem-focused
• Respectful of boundaries and choice
Men are welcome to speak or remain quiet, to move or stay still. Listening is participation.
Who this is for
THE PRACTICE is for men who are curious about:
• Somatic awareness and nervous system health
• Emotional intelligence and regulation
• Understanding patterns like shutdown, reactivity, or disconnection
• Men’s work that is slow, relational, and embodied
If you have ever wondered why you react the way you do, this is a place to explore that question gently.
About the donation
This is a donation-based workshop. A suggested contribution is listed, and you are welcome to give at a level that feels accessible.
All proceeds support SHIFT Foundation, which provides grants for male teachers, counselors, therapists, youth mentors, and community leaders to attend leadership and mentorship programs at SHIFT Men’s Retreats.
In 2026, our goal is to fund two full grants for community leaders to attend the retreat.
Your participation supports both your own growth and the development of male leadership in communities.
