About this event

Informational interviewing is a way to learn, firsthand, whether or not a job or career of interest is right for you.

It’s an informal conversation with someone about the daily life and the career path about a job or career. Key questions include, “What is liked (and disliked?)”, “How they got the job?’, “What the required skills and typical education requirements are?” “What are keys to success?”, “What was their journey - how did they end up where they now work?”

Done right, informational interviewing can be a fun and fascinating way to explore, and mentally “try on” careers and jobs.

You will learn how to conduct an informational interview – the “dos” and “don’ts”. It is NOT a job interview.

At the Job Forum we want to give you a positive start in informational interviewing so we are bringing several managers from Bay Area companies to the This Job Forum session to help you get started.

We are providing not just a descriptive discussion (which itself will be very valuable) but also the opportunity to practice informational interviewing and ask questions in breakout sessions.

The Job Forum will have experts at this online meeting ready to get you started feeling comfortable informational interviewing.

Sponsored by the Miranda Lux Foundation. By signing up for this event you agree to receive future event emails from The Job Forum.
