The voice is perhaps the single most powerful magickal tool that we carry within our bodies. Magick can be spoken, toned, chanted, sung, whistled, hissed, uttered as primal sounds, and more. The universe is made of vibrations and so is the power we raise and shape in rituals.

We will begin the workshop by expanding our psychic sense of hearing. Then we will explore the use of clapping, drumming, chanting and simple musical instruments in magick and ritual. We will weave back and forth between theory and practical applications. We will also learn how to incorporate and encourage the use of sound in your solo or group practice.

Be in a place where you feel comfortable chanting, drumming and making noise during this class.

About the presenter:

Jim Welch, is High Priest of Troupe of the Starry Door, a coven of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. He is one of the founding members of the ASW and has been active in the Wiccan/Pagan community since 1981. He was the chair of the committee that wrote the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel's code of ethics. He is a Waterpourer trained by Shevierah Stonewater and conducts Sweat ceremonies using Wiccan protocols. Jim practices a variety of forms of healing touch and healing ritual and is certified in Holistic Nursing. Jim is one of the stewards of Seelie Court, 102 acres of wooded land in Southern Delaware.
