Overdose Safety Plan-Train the Trainer Program

A comprehensive, half-day training intended to secure the sustainability of Overdose Safety Planning across the organization. Designated individuals in the organization are led through the safety planning training with additional focus on adult learning best practices, points of pedagogy, and different learning styles to equip them with the skills they would need to deliver this training themselves within their organization/setting. Afterwards, those who participate in the train-the-trainer sessions get access to the latest version of the training slides, speaker notes, and a digital toolkit with multimedia resources, handouts, and checklists to enhance training delivery. Zero Overdose also provides annual recertification to the trainers in the organization to ensure fidelity to the model and share any new resources or updates that accompany the training.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Overdose Safety Plan Training

A comprehensive training module designed for participants to master overdose risk screening, safety planning, and management. It focuses on equipping participants with actionable strategies to manage overdose risks and giving them the confidence to engage in discussions on this topic. If necessary, Overdose Safety Plans can be integrated into electronic health records, ensuring continuity of care and safety.

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Community Ambassador Training

This training equips community ambassadors with the skills and knowledge to help individuals at risk of overdose through effective overdose safety planning. The session covers core concepts of harm reduction, understanding overdose risks, creating personalized safety plans, and promoting self-care for ambassadors. Special emphasis is placed on how ambassadors engage with individuals at risk, community members such as employers and school personnel, as well as how to approach conversations around overdose prevention and inform people how to access Overdose Safety Planning.
