The Power of Partnership: Responding to Juvenile Human Trafficking

The Power of Partnership: Responding to Juvenile Human Trafficking

By Safe Harbor

Overview

A panel of experts will walk through a real case that required coordinated efforts across multiple organizations.

Held in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, this panel discussion centers on the complexities of juvenile human trafficking and the critical role of cross-system collaboration in identifying, responding to, and supporting young survivors.

Through a facilitated case review, an expert panel representing law enforcement, social services, and victim advocacy will walk attendees through a real juvenile trafficking case that required coordinated intervention across multiple agencies. Panelists will examine how the case was identified, the challenges encountered across systems, and how collaboration, communication, and shared responsibility impacted both survivor safety and case outcomes.

This discussion will highlight best practices, common barriers, and key considerations when responding to juvenile trafficking, with particular attention to trauma-informed engagement, information sharing, and multidisciplinary coordination. The goal of the panel is to foster shared understanding, strengthen community partnerships, and encourage continued collaboration among professionals working with juveniles.

Open to the public and strongly recommended for law enforcement, professional service providers, social services staff, educators, and victim advocates.

Free to attend; attendees are encouraged to bring a donation item in support of Safe Harbor’s Human Trafficking Program (wishlist attached). Light refreshments will be provided.
