Welcome to The Power of Birding: Voices In Conservation BIPOC Panel & Networking Event! Join us at Patagonia Buckhead for an evening of insightful discussions and networking opportunities.
This free, public event centers on community, identity, and the outdoors featuring a powerful conversation with Black and BIPOC environmental leaders and birders who are reshaping what conservation looks and feels like.
Evening Outline:
6 PM - 7 PM: Social networking, mixer-style. Refreshments and foods are free for guests.
7 PM - 8 PM: Formal introductions. Panel introductions and discussion moderated by Birds Georgia. Q&A at the end if needed.
8:30 PM: Closing remarks and giveaway winners announced! Giveaways feature NOCS provisions binoculars and monoculars, and Patagonia swag!

Panelists Bios:
Corvida Raven is an award-winning technologist known for "talking tech in plain English" on her blog and empowering the people and places she comes from. The Streets is Cawing, one of many community-centered spaces Corvida has created, celebrates the historical and often overlooked connection between Black individuals and the birding world. We hold space for Black birders to "Take Flight" in all that we do. It's birding for everybody that's Black. @birdingwhileblack
Devin Cowens is connector, community organizer, avid birder, native plant enthusiast and an ultra athlete. She focuses on increasing access, training, education and support in the outdoors for BIPOC folks. She also founded Radical Adventure Riders ATL (RAR ATL), a bike community that aims to expand gender diversity and increase racial equity in the cycling and outdoors spaces. In addition to RAR ATL, she co-founded Radical Run Crew (@rrc.atlanta), a community and social centered inclusive run club for queer, BIPOC, and trans/enby folks. @dev_rox
Brianna Jordynn “B.J.” Wright is a writer, educator and scholar based in Atlanta, GA. In 2019, she graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology (minor in Women’s Studies) and African American Studies (concentration in Historical Investigation and Cultural Awareness). She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in African Diasporic Studies.
Currently, she serves as the Southeast C.O.R.E. Fellow at Trust for Public Land, spending most days exploring and introducing stakeholders to the complex beauty and history of the Chattahoochee River.
