This summer, BU students joined The New Normal Challenge where they developed ideas to support the BU community on- and off-campus this fall. From new technology to virtual community building events to safe outdoor solutions, join us on September 23rd to meet the students behind these incredible ideas!

Meet the finalists from the Student Impact Track who received a $500 seed grant to support their idea. This track was for students who wanted to develop and implement an idea as a team. The audience will get to vote for one of the finalists to win a bonus cash prize!

Meet students who developed ideas for the Charles River Campus Track. These ideas are recommendations from undergraduate students that the University could implement.

This is a great opportunity for students to network and join a team who is looking for additional talent and support!

More about The New Normal Challenge:

The New Normal Challenge launched in late July and was an opportunity to develop equitable ideas that will help BU students transition back to campus (in-person or virtually) this fall and foster community, connection, and wellbeing.

The challenge was made up of two tracks: 1) The Charles River Campus Track for ideas developed by undergraduates that could be implemented by the University and 2) The Student Impact Track for ideas developed and implemented by a current student/team.

Over three weeks, students worked on ideas, networked and built teams, and attended workshops to help them craft equitable ideas.

The challenge was hosted by BU Student Government, UMOJA, the Dean of Students Office, and Innovate@BU.

Innovate@BU is a University-wide initiative to enable all BU Terriers to become drivers of innovation in their own lives, careers, and communities. Innovate@BU's physical home, the BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center, hosts experiential learning programs that foster an entrepreneurial mindset by teaching innovation, communication, and collaboration skills.
