Description

Join Metropolis, Studio O+A, and Poppin for a lively discussion, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres.

We'll explore the new basics of the 21st century workplace—what we really need to get our work done in satisfying, productive, and healthy ways that nurture our humanity.

Workplace design today is a complex endeavor. Designers are trying to solve for open-plan issues, amend the 24/7 workplace for every possible situation, and maintain maximum flexibility for technological advances. But have we taken things too far? In creating all kinds of amenity spaces and services—nap rooms, yoga rooms, masseuses, in-house dentists, and Michelin star chefs—have we distanced ourselves from what is truly important: meaningful work and connecting with our community?
