Schedule of activities:

  • All day - Galleries open for viewing
  • All day - Tours of the historic NAC's Tilden Mansion parlors (with registration)
  • 10 AM - 2 PM - Join Curated Care for expressive arts & crafts activities. Curated Care will provide little ones with all the necessary supplies to create one-of-a-kind art projects. Perfect for all ages
  • 12 - 1 PM - Live music performance with NAC artist fellow, Trinidadian drummer and composer Zane Rodulfo presents a live Calypso band, featuring some of New York’s top Trinidadian and Caribbean musicians. This ensemble also features U.S. Virgin Island Grammy and Emmy Award Winning saxophonist and composer Ron Blake. Ron Blake has worked extensively with Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, Roy Haynes, Art Farmer, Meshell Ndgeocello, Yerba Buena, and recently completed his 18th season with NBC’s Saturday Night Live Band. This performance celebrates Calypso and the music of Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean and its influence on jazz and Black American Music particularly between the 50s and 70s. Off of the heels of the West Indian Day Parade and approaching Trinidad’s Calypso History Month in October, the afternoon promises a buoyant and energetic performance celebrating the city’s Caribbean community.
