*"THE MUTUAL INFLUENCE OF THE PSYCHE AND THE BODY: AN INTRODUCTION TO ROLFING®"

Liz Stewart, Advanced Rolfer®, BCSI, GSI

Liz Stewart is joining us from Boulder, Colorado, where she is an Advanced Rolfer®, trainer, mentor, and supervisor. In this session, she’ll introduce the basic premises of Rolfing®—what it is and what it isn’t—offer a trauma-informed perspective on working with the body, and share how relational psychoanalytic thinking informs her touch and communication, always within scope of practice and with attention to safety and consent. These two hours blend concise didactic content with experiential, conversational learning.

After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Define Rolfing® Structural Integration at a basic level and state its primary aims.
  2. Describe trauma-informed considerations for body-based work, including pacing, consent, and collaboration/referrals.
  3. Differentiate Rolfing® from other body-based therapies and identify when a client may benefit from a Rolfing® approach.
