About this event
We invite you to join us Saturday October 18th from 3-5pm in The Creative Arts Center at the Enoch Pratt Free Library – Central Branch, for The Mixing Bowl, a FREE storytelling and community connection event hosted by Arts Collective.
When you enter the beautiful space, our team will be there to greet you and assist in navigating the setup. Nourish yourself with some food while watching a teaser for our hybrid docuseries, Subject Tew Change, and learning about Arts Collective and our collaborators.
Feel like sharing your own story? Head over to our Oral History Station where we will have a private set up with a camera, mic, and interviewer to help you document your story, any story (up to 3 mins).
More in the mood for connection or looking for creative resources? Join community members, near the DJ, where you can share what you're looking for AND what you're coming to the table with. A couple of team members will be present to facilitate conversations! We also have a creative resource directory we want to share with you and we will have a place in this area for you to make suggestions on what could be added. The current categories are space, equipment, funding, education, and collaboration!
Spread the word and we hope to see you there!
Supported by BOPA's Free Fall Baltimore Program 2025
Arts Collective was born at Baltimore School for the Arts where founder Sarah Berns-Zieve, aka BZ, at the age of 16 decided that she needed to highlight the interdiscliplinary community of creatives she was surrounded by. Through collaboration rooted in Baltimore City, Arts Collective has grown into an organization that activates the power of art to nurture creative leadership, amplify intergeneratonal stortyelling, and center Baltimore's creative communities. Baltimore City is a space to flourish and our vision is to create a sustainable infrastructure where resources are connected to local creatives, especially those born here, who would benefit from them most; where beyond the act of creating, artists are taught how to work, teach, live, and lead; where community means coming together across generations, across neighborhoods, to exchange stories, imagine together, and map a future of health and freedom.
