About this event

Film & Media • Other

Giving actors the chance to act, directors the chance to direct and writers to hear their ideas off the page.

We're very excited to invite you to "The Liverpool Scratch Network"

The location will vary each month, this month will be Frederiks Pillbox, Hope St.

This is a monthly event - so we'll be looking for more actors/writers/directors who are interested in exploring and showcasing new work for the coming months, as well as industry contacts keen to watch and support!

If there's anyone you'd like to extend the invitation to please do send them the link. Plus, anyone who'd be interested in acting, directing or having a scene of theirs performed at the next event, they can email liverpoolscratchnetwork@gmail.com.

It should be a really enjoyable evening. Hope to see you there!

What is a scratch night?

Basically, it's one or two steps up from a readthrough. Actors and directors will be given the scene the night before to familiarise themselves with the scene, giving them chance to prepare should they wish to bring a prop or a piece of costume etc. They'll arrive a couple of hours before the performance to workshop it together. The performance will be simple blocking, minimal props and the script can be in the actors hands. The audience will be made aware at the beginning of the performances that what they are about to see if a work in progress, so there's really no pressure at all. We want the Scratch Network to be a safe place for creatives to explore new ideas and meet people in the industry.
