The Listening Party Music Producer Showcase Series - 8th Edition

We’re back with another evening dedicated to the people and process behind the sound!

The Listening Party is a community-rooted showcase spotlighting women and gender diverse music producers across genres, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Created by Toronto-based producer and Women in Music Canada's 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year, Lisa Patterson, the series was born out of the transformative power of communal listening.

The showcase builds awareness, career opportunities and community by carving out space for underrepresented music producers to connect with public audiences, industry and other creators in a way that feels human, honest, and alive. To date, the series has highlighted over 90 producers, each sharing their unique sonic signature and offering a peek at their creative process.

Producers are mostly tucked away in studio spaces working behind the scenes, so The Listening Party invites them to share more than just their tracks: they bring the stories that shaped the sound. And they themselves receive the rare thrill of a real-time response to their work from a live audience; be it focused presence, head nods, or full-on hip shaking, it's an impactful exchange between artist and listener.

The showcase features carefully curated lineup of both established and emerging producers and their tracks through a committee review process from public call for submissions as well as select invitations. Between playlist sets and at the conclusion, the room is abuzz with inspiration, brith of collaborations and industry networking.

Awareness is the first step to elevating opportunities that move careers forward - because you can’t hire a producer you don’t know exists!
