Rising playwrights, Dashiell McFarr and Giorgio Buono, are proud to present their original play, The Legend of Mt. Hurr! The premiere will be at the Illusion Magic Lounge in Santa Monica on August 9th at 7:00 PM.
Originally, this play had a single showing in our high school's black-box theater. Still completely student run, and back by popular demand, what began as a high school passion project now finds its way onto a professional stage.
Thank you to everyone who’s had a hand in making this play possible. The play itself would never have been realized were it not for the creative empowerment of the Long Beach Poly Drama Program. There will be a donation box to support the program in the lobby.

Welcome to the cult!
After coming to terms with the failures of their magic careers, two brothers, Charles and Pig, in 1970s Appalachia, aim to reverse their financial hardships. Ambitious Charles seizes an opportunity to make a quick buck in the business of religion. The brothers travel back to their hometown of Mt. Hurr, Appalachia, to spread the word of the newly discovered almighty “Houdini Monster." They do well as magical missionaries. The Church of Houdini is established, promises are made, and all the townspeople flock to worship Houdini. However, a local religion, led by the town’s Reverend, will not be replaced without a fight.

Time: Doors will open at 6:30 PM, show starts at 7:00!
Parking: $6 or less, (parking will be at the Santa Monica Public Parking Structure #5)
There will be an intermission halfway through and concessions will be sold.
We only have one night, so we recommend you get your tickets online rather than at the door, Houdini is a popular man!
