About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for an interactive program in the Neag Planetarium that highlights how different cultures and artists interpret the constellations in the night sky. Afterward, we'll engage in a hands-on blacklight painting workshop, led by one of Reading Public Museum's educators. Specifically, creating a glow-in-the-dark artwork that highlights our own connection to outer space. This fun activity can be used with your students in the classroom!

In the last hour of the event, we will also have a chance to walk around the Reading Public Museum to explore the art galleries. Puerto Rican artist Patrick McGrath Muñiz's exhibition, named "Recolleciones/Recollections," is featured. Muñiz's work integrates elements of Spanish colonial iconography, American pop culture and tarot symbolism, layered intricately with personal narratives and collective memories.
