Welcome to The Inner Reunion: From Protection to Connection using Expressive Therapy event! Join us at 2205 York Rd or online on January 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM (Eastern Time) for a transformative experience. Dive into healing, and growth through expressive therapy techniques. Let's explore the power of art, movement, and creativity in fostering emotional connections.

This training explores how trauma, dissociation, and parts of self shape client experiences and healing journeys. Through expressive and parts-informed approaches—including play, sand tray, and creative interventions—participants will learn strategies to help clients build safety, connect with protective parts, and move toward integration. Emphasis is placed on cultural responsiveness, developmental considerations, and ethical practice, equipping clinicians to support empowerment, resilience, and wholeness across the lifespan. The training also emphasizes therapist attunement, pacing, and strategies for avoiding re-traumatization.

Objectives:

  • Identify and analyze the impact of dissociation, fragmentation, and parts-oriented experiences on trauma survivors within the context of social work practice
  • Implement expressive and parts-informed interventions that promote safety, stabilization, and integration for children, adolescents, and adults
  • Assess the influence of cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and systemic factors on fragmentation and dissociation
  • Utilize sand tray and symbolic play techniques to help clients externalize, explore, and integrate fragmented experiences
