The Healthy, Equitable, Active Land Use Network (HEALU Network) presents: Enhancing Community Engagement Practices

Please join the HEALU Network for Part 3 of our four-part summit series, Equity as a Through Line: Social Movements, Public Finance, and Infrastructure Investments for Healthy Communities. Part 3 will explore what it takes to ensure meaningful, equitable community engagement in land use and infrastructure-related efforts.

Los Angeles is experiencing a surge of interest and investments in land use policy and infrastructure designed to promote health, livability, and climate resilience—from affordable housing, transit, and complete streets to parks, trails, and water systems. Too often, these investments and decision-making processes don't do enough to engage residents of under-resourced communities, despite the fact that these neighborhoods are on the front lines of challenges like housing affordability, climate change, and environmental justice. This summit will explore what LA agencies and some of the region's leading community-based organizations are learning about how community engagement can and should look moving forward, with a focus on building and sustaining community participation and organizational capacity to engage with complex land use issues.

The California Endowment is conveniently located near Union Station, the Chinatown Metro station, and several bus stops. We encourage people to take public transit in support of LA County services, or to walk, bike, or carpool/rideshare.

There is a free guest parking lot onsite. For entrance, please provide gate keeper the name of the event. This is a "self-parking" lot.
