The Harris String Quartet, made up 4 highly talented musicians Emma Donald (violin), Serena Whitmarsh (violin), Eilidh Randall (viola), Katy Bell (cello), kick off the 5th Season of Summer Concerts in Evanton Community Wood. Emma first performed in the wood in 2022, with the Fyrish String Quartet; she also leads the Mahler Players.
The informal concert takes place in the Mag's Wood area of the community wood; the octagonal log-built shelter will provide shelter if required. Log seating and some folding chairs are available; attendees may wish to bring their own.
There is a fully accessible toilet on site and Refreshments will be available (courtesy of Evanton Coop).
There is no admission fee (we have funding from the Kiltearn Community Council RWE windfarm grants) but donations are warmly welcomed - these go towards the maintenance of the woods. We also welcome new Members of the organisation.
To walk to the Mag's Wood area from the Cabin at the entrance of the woods takes about 12 to 15 mins. Vehicle access is available for Blue Badge holders only
