Mini Tournament – Friday Night

Hi everyone! This Friday, I’m hosting a fun and friendly mini tournament for those interested in adding a little light competition to their game. This is not a PPA or MLP event — just a casual, low-key tournament for our local group.

📍 Limited to 24 players

💵 $10 per person – pay at the door

🎯 Play is divided by DUPR level (you’ll need a DUPR to participate, link here)

🏆 Cash Prizes (if full at 24 players):

1st Place – $110
2nd Place – $65
3rd Place – $40

To play on the courts where my nets will be set up, you’ll need two things:

✅ A DUPR ID

✅ The $10 entry fee

Why Should You Have a DUPR Rating?

DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) helps ensure fair and balanced play. It matches players by skill level and helps track your improvement over time. It's free to sign up and is used by thousands of clubs around the world.

🟢 Pros:

Fairer matchups
Easy to track progress
Universal and inclusive
Free to use

🔴 Cons:

Everyone starts at 3.5, so early accuracy may be off
Not perfect in measuring gaps between very different levels (New ID)

Important Notes:

This is a small tournament for two reasons:

1. We’re working with limited time

2. Many players still don’t have a DUPR yet — so match accuracy may not be perfect this first go-round

✅ We’re also limiting this to players with a DUPR of 3.9 and under.

If you don’t have a DUPR but know you’re a 4.0+ player, please sit this one out. Let’s keep things fair — this isn’t about winning money, it’s about having honest, level competition.

All DUPR ratings will be visible before matches begin. We want everyone to know the matchups are fair. So please — no sandbagging or sneaking in above your level. Let’s play it straight and keep the vibe right.
