About this event

Business • Environment & Sustainability

The clean energy workforce in Massachusetts is expected to grow by 38%, adding over 38,000 jobs by 2030.

Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) are key to achieving these climate goals by driving solutions, diversifying the workforce, and advancing equity for environmental justice communities.

However, MWBEs face systemic barriers such as limited access to capital, project selection bias, and lower starting wealth, which make it harder to start and scale their businesses.

The Green Opportunity for Cooperative Businesses in the Clean Energy Sector

Join us for an interactive PowerUP! Cooperative Business Incubator info session where entrepreneurs, small business owners, and industry leaders from underrepresented communities will explore how cooperative ownership can unlock opportunities in the clean energy sector and construction trades.

This info session will cover the market opportunity within clean energy, the benefits and competive advantges of shared ownership, and roadmap for launching or converting your business into a worker-owned co-op.

Participants will leave with clear next steps for how to enroll into the PowerUP! Cooperative Business Incubator, resources, and connections to help them learn more about the growing clean energy sector and cooperative business economy within Massachusetts
