A tale of insurrection and woe told in poetry, song and music.

The story of the uprising by the labouring classes against the ruling elite that became known as the Swing Riots and which cluminated in the transportation or execution of many activists told through poetry, songs and music. !nVerse and Georgia Hilton have created a spectacular and original show based on historical archives and records as well as local/parish sources and information.

Expect to hear the voices of William Cobbett Esq., the Iron Duke (Wellington) Henry Cook (condemned to death) and his family and others caught up in these momentous but near-forgotten events.

Poems and songs will be accompanied by cello, piano, clarinet, Northumbrian small pipes, guitars, flute and banjo.
