On October 25, 2025 – during the peak weekend of Oktoberfest – Family Promise will hold its most exciting FUN-raising event of the year — the 10th Annual GREAT HELEN DUCK RACE! This is an event you won’t want to miss out on, as we launch 3,000 unsinkable little yellow rubber ducks into the Chattahoochee River in the middle of Helen and watch them race to the finish line at the Helen Festhalle. The first duck to cross the finish line will win a $5,000 cash prize for its sponsor! **2nd & 3rd PLACE DUCKS WILL ALSO RECEIVE PRIZES THIS YEAR VALUED AT MORE THAN $750!** You do not have to be present to win, but how could you miss this? It will quack you up!
Here is how you can help us make this event successful, as well as tons of fun. Family Promise will be selling sponsorships for each and every duck in the race. To sponsor one duck is only $10.00, but a raft of five ducks can be sponsored for just $40.00. Remember – the winner will get $5,000! There will be a total of 3,000 tickets (ducks) sold.
