The Self-Sovereign Identity Incubator (SSI Incubator) launched this year as the world's only incubator for startups who want to solve problems and build products using self-sovereign identity (SSI), a technology widely seen as a solution to the internet’s missing identity layer.

SSI Incubator is run by the experts from the Sovrin Foundation—the team that helped pioneer SSI and launched the Sovrin Network. As a nonprofit, the Sovrin Foundation implements the governance for the Sovrin Network, a global network for decentralized identity operated on six continents. This makes SSI Incubator the destination for startups, companies, organizations, and investors seeking to transform how we deal with identity, verification, and security.

We invite investors to come to "The Future of Digital Identity, Blockchain, and Investment in Self-Sovereign Identity" and see what the five startups in our inaugural cohort have been building the last 12 weeks. The startups are looking for investors who have resources that can help them take their companies into their later stages.

This evening brings together some of the most exciting work being done in decentralized technology and specifically explores the current work being done in blockchain based identity and self-sovereign identity.

Hard Yaka is an investment firm focused on digital identity, payments, and marketplaces founded by Greg Kidd, an initial investor and advisor for both Twitter and Square. The Sovrin Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to administer the Governance Framework governing the Sovrin Network, a decentralized global public network enabling self-sovereign identity on the internet. The Sovrin Network is an open source project operated by independent Stewards and uses the power of a distributed ledger to give every person, organization, and thing the ability to own and control their own permanent digital identity.
