UPDATE!
We had an awesome start of our CSCMP Global Roundtable Challenege on Monday, November 30th when nearly 30 players competed against each other in teams of 3 and 4!!! YOU can still join the fun!
We will be continuing the competition on Monday, December 7th and Monday, December 14th, so it is NOT TOO LATE to join in the fun! Read below to learn more, and join us for our next event!
Please note, once you have registered for one of the events, it is NOT necessary to register for the other dates! THANK YOU!
How smart do you think you are? Do you think you have the mettle to be VP of a company? Think you and 3 others can do better than other participants competing against you from all over the world?
Find out by participating in the The Northern Nevada Roundtable of CSCMP's "Fresh Connection" online simulation game, and perhaps win an all-expenses paid trip to Orlando next June!
The "Fresh Connection" game will be played on consecutive Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the UNR College of Business. The event is being held in Ansari Business Building Room 101. The remaining events are:
- Monday, December 7th from 7pm to 9pm
- Monday, December 14th from 7pm to 9pm
Put together your own team, or we will assign you to a team. Each team must be made up of:
- A young professional or student
- A middle manager
- A senior executive
- A fourth person of your choice!
Your team's mission will be to turnaround a fresh juice company which is losing money. To return the company to profitability, your team will need to work together in four areas: Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Operations and Logistics. Each team member is a VP of their assigned area, and will make decisions which affect each of the other areas. Working together is key!
The top 3 winning teams from Northern Nevada will company against THE REST OF THE WORLD beginning in February 2016! Here is how the Global Roundtable Competition will work:
- Three elimination rounds will be played in February, March, and April of 2016. Each round will present the teams with engaging supply chain scenarios that require each team member to contribute his or her own creativity and supply chain savvy, in collaboration with the other team members, to formulate a winning supply chain strategy.
- The top three teams after the first three rounds will be invited to face off in a final winner-takes-all competition at the 2016 Roundtable Leadership Forum in Southern California, June 17-18, 2016.
- Each member of the winning team will receive an all-expense paid trip to CSCMP’s Annual Conference in Orlando, September 25-28, 2016. Winning team members will be brought onstage at the conference and recognized for their achievements!
So, what’s in it for you?
- Knowledge – Young professionals and middle managers who participate in the challenge will tap into career-long experiences and insights from senior-level participants.
- Teamwork – Learn the benefits of working together and developing solutions as a team. There are no solo acts in business and supply chain management.
- Connections – Get to know your local businessmen, companies and supply chain leaders.
- Communications – Open channels of communication throughout the supply chain management hierarchy, and experience, first hand, how effective communication is the heart and soul of any successful company.
- Fun –What’s more enjoyable than competing with your peers in a game that lets you take the problem-solving process from start to finish?
