“I read everything Chris Kraus writes.” — Rachel Kushner

Autofiction meets crime novel from the “powerfully original” (The New York Times) critic and author of the cult classic I Love Dick. In a cold, depressed town, on the fringes of a so-called “meth community” on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota, three teenagers shoot and kill an older acquaintance and are quickly arrested. At the time of the murder, Catt Greene and her husband, Paul Garcia, are locked into a period of personal turmoil, moving between LA and Minnesota—between the art world and the rural poverty of Paul’s addiction therapist job. Soon Catt turns away from her own life and towards the murder case, which quickly becomes an obsession. Written in three linked parts, The Four Spent the Day Together explores the age of social media’s paralyzing interconnectedness and the ever-widening gulf between the rich and poor. In conversation with Womb House Books founder Jessica Ferri. Doors at 6:30pm. $15 adv / $20 door
