Join us for the The Forgotten Lives Project from David Bender's Opening Reception, Sunday, October 5th, 1-3:30 pm.

I’m a digital collage artist and photographer and a collector of early portrait photography—daguerreotypes, tintypes, and cabinet cards from the 1800s. I’m fascinated and sometimes saddened by these mysterious and haunting photographs of long-forgotten people, and I’m driven not only to preserve their memory, but to awaken it. My work intertwines 19th century photographs with whimsical objects and animals, creating playful, surreal, and haunting worlds. Titled The Forgotten Lives Project, these reimagined images aim to bring life to long-lost souls and tell a new story.
