About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

The Ethics Act states that public office is a public trust. Efforts to realize financial gain through public office or employment other than compensation provided by law is a violation of that trust. In this free 1 1/2-hour live presentation, learn what the Ethics Act is and how the State Ethics Commission enforces it, review some of the most-frequently violated Ethics Act provisions, and discover how to spot a potential problem so you can stay on the right side of the Ethics Act – and out of the newspapers!

This training is open to Public Officials, Public Employees, and Solicitors. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has approved this course for 1 ½ hours of Ethics credits. For questions, please contact Julie Gibson at 717.783.1610.
