The Ecology of Community Transformation
Overview
The Ecology of Community Transformation is designed for people who are invested in creating healthy systems and who want to encourage civic engagement. Rooted in the belief that everything is connected, this six-week series supports facilitators who want:
- To navigate paradoxes instead of adhering to black and white thinking
- To foster reciprocal relationships opposed to transactional relationships
- To be present more than to be right
- To hold people accountable opposed to judging people
- To respect natural resources instead of exploiting them
During this training, you will be asked to reflect on your motivations, to identify areas of personal growth, and to speak your truth respectfully. This six-week journey will provide you with opportunities to practice polarity mapping, nonviolent communication, container building, resource management, empowerment tools, and emergent strategy.
In order to create a brave space, this training is limited to eight adults who are able to commit to at least five out of the six meeting times. If you are unsure if this series is a good fit for you, then please contact Kim before registering for the class.
I leave you with a line from the adrienne maree brown poem, A Complex Movement: a sentiment which encapsulates my hopes for anyone attending The Ecology of Community Transformation.
Over and over again
It becomes known
The peace we seek
Is seeking us
