LEARN MORE ABOUT THE EARLY YEARS COMMUNITY:

🌸 The Early Years Support Circle is a virtual community dedicated to supporting Black families on their lactation and early parenting journey.

Join us every Saturday at 10 AM PST on Zoom to learn, connect, and share.

Deciding how to feed your baby is one of the most important choices you’ll make as a parent. If breastfeeding/providing human milk is right for you, there are four key factors I’ve found that lead to success: self-determination, support from family, access to professional education and resources, and connection to a community of peers.

Even for the most determined mom, there may still be barriers, especially if you're Black. That’s where I come in.

I’m Janisha, a student IBCLC and doula with over six years of experience hosting breastfeeding support groups. Research shows that moms who participate in breastfeeding support groups are 66% more likely to continue breastfeeding at three months, enjoy improved mental health, build lasting bonds, and feel more satisfied with their breastfeeding journey—no matter how long it lasts.

Many moms join during pregnancy and remain well into their child’s toddler years!

Has your breastfeeding journey ended? That's perfectly fine... Your presence is still deeply valued and welcomed. Plus, there's so much more to early parenthood than lactation. What about sleep or introducing solids?? This is the perfect space to talk about it. 😁

🌼 Mental and Emotional Support: Parenting is one of the most rewarding roles you’ll ever take on, but it’s also one of the most challenging. This is a safe space to share openly, be heard, and find encouragement when you need it most.
